The Oben Rorr electric bike is the Bengaluru-based startup’s first electric motorcycle, rivalling the Tork Kratos. You can read all about it in our launch story here. The deliveries for the Oben Rorr motorcycle commenced in July 2023 with a price hike.
The Oben Rorr is now priced at Rs 1,49,999, ex-showroom Karnataka, excluding state subsidies. The electric motorcycle is available only in one variant.
Oben Electric has equipped the Rorr with an all-LED lighting system, and a fully digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity. Using the latter, users can access functions including predictive maintenance, ride details, battery status, geo-fencing, geo-tagging, charging station locator, on-demand service, and roadside assistance. The e-bike also gets CBS as standard.
The Oben Rorr is powered by a 8kW frame-mounted IPSM motor linked to a chain drive. It can accelerate from 0-40kmph in 3 seconds, and the claimed top speed is 100kmph. There are three modes: Eco, City and Havoc. The claimed true range in Havoc stands at 100km, whereas the City and Eco mode offer 120km and 150km respectively. The 4.4kWh LFP battery pack offers a claimed IDC (Ideal Driving Conditions) range of 187km. It takes 2 hours to charge from 0-80% using a 15A socket.
The Oben Rorr employs a telescopic fork up front and a rear monoshock. Braking is via disc at both ends with CBS as standard. The e-bike comes with a generous 200mm ground clearance and an impressive 230mm water wading capability.
